The Denver Sunset Home, Inc. was established in 1964 and opened the door for business in February, 1965.
The Sunset Home is a community based, non-profit corporation governed by a nine member volunteer Board of Directors.
Priority for admission to the Sunset Home is given to residents of Denver, Readlyn and the immediate surrounding rural area. The Denver Sunset Home is licensed as a 31 bed Nursing Facility by the State of Iowa and is governed by the Iowa State Department of Inspections and Appeals.
It is the mission of the Denver Sunset Home to provide high quality Healthcare to the elderly of our community at an affordable cost. The Sunset Home is dedicated to the promotion of the health, safety and well-being of our residents, staff and community.
It is the philosophy of the Sunset Home to recognize and respect the dignity of all people; acknowledging that each person has physical, mental, emotional and spiritual needs and rights and that those rights must be protected. We believe each resident has the right to expect and receive the best care we have to offer at all times regardless of race, color, creed, national origin, age, gender, religion, sexual orientation or political affiliation.
We believe that each member of our staff is dedicated to preserve and protect the health, safety, well-being, rights, dignity and property of our residents. We believe that employment in our home should be based on qualifications, and the ability to function effectively with our elderly residents regardless of race, color, creed, national origin, age, gender, religion, sexual orientation or political affiliation. We believe that the personnel of our Home must be of good moral character and be willing to uphold the mission and philosophy of this Home.
The Board of Directors, administration, and staff of the Denver Sunset Home therefore dedicate ourselves and this Home to these beliefs.
